Brittany has signed a scholarship to play at Saint Francis, a Division 1 program in Loretto, Pennsylvannia. After starting to play lacrosse at 13 years of age in the Blue Knights U15HL program for 2 seasons, Brittany then moved into the Rep program and played on the U19B team for 2 seasons. The following season she made the U19A team, and played on it for 2 seasons. She was a part of 2 Provincial Championship teams and a Summer Games Championship. Brittany has developed into a very reliable attacker. She ranked 11th in league scoring in the 2007 season, with 23 goals and 24 assists for 47 points in 20 league games. Brittany is a tremendous example of an individual combining athletics and academics to her advantage in pursuing a scholarship. Brittany is a great example of a player who started in our House League program, moved into our U19B program, and then to our U19A program. She was patient, understood "paying her dues", and never ever quit. It obviously paid off!
Congratulations! Well done Brittany!

For the first time the OLBK organization sent their U15 team south of the border to participate in a friendship tournament at the Golden Goal facility in Lake George, New York. The girls were the only Canadian team for either the boys or girls division and quickly became known as the “Canada Girls” throughout the tournament. The girls opened the tournament on Friday with an 11-7 win over team Colorado, sending an early message to the rest of teams that the “Canada Girls” were there to play. That night the team marched onto the field (in two’s) carrying their Lady Blue Knight banner, with the U.S. fans cheering as each Blue Knight girl waved their small Canadian Flag. Saturday brought early success when the OLBK team faced the Albany select team. In a hard fought game the girls managed to come on top with a 10-9 final. The Team then faced a strong team Vermont in the afternoon. With a storm looming, the game went back and forth with Vermont scoring two quick goals in the final minutes to down the U15’s 9-8. The third match of the day, against a dominant Western Massachusetts team, was a tough one for the OLBK team. “West Mass” came out strong early against a flat Blue Knight team and took advantage downing the girls 8-3. The loss, although disappointing, was “flushed” and the team was looking forward to meeting Rhode Island early the next day. That night the girls attended the ice cream social and danced away the evening ending the days festivities with a fireworks display. The Sunday game was cancelled due to a lightning storm in the area so the girls had to make the long trek home 2 & 2. One of the US Lacrosse organizers made comment that she enjoyed the “Canada Girls” style of play and watched all their games over the weekend. A parent from Western Mass told us that our girls gave them their toughest game of the year. All in all the experience for the U15’s was outstanding. The girls represented themselves, the organization, and their country in typical Lady Blue Knight fashion; with respect for others and pride. Well done girls!!!
